Nip/Tuck season 5 was premiered on 10-30-2007 and the season opener was entitled ‘Carly Summers’. It opened with Sean and Christian as they relocated their practice from Miami to Los Angeles and got jobs as the medical consultants on a night soap opera called ‘Hearts ‘n’ Scalpels’. Next episode was entitled ‘Joyce & Sharon Monroe’. Here, we met Julia when she visited New York and introduced her boyfriend to Sean and Christian.

Then came the episode entitled ‘Everett Poe’- Eden, Olivia’s 18 year old daughter came to McNamara/Troy for a hymen reconstruction and Sean is very disturbed by her. Matt visited Los Angeles with baby Jenna and announced that he had left Kimber. Sean came to know about Kate’s secrets; meanwhile, Liz questioned Julia-Olivia relationship. Next episode was entitled ‘Dawn Budge II’. We met Dawn Budge who required the professional services of Sean and Christian after an eagle attacked her face. Christian treated a nun who has a desire to reduce the size of her breasts and also another disturbed woman. Sisterly bond between Annie and Eden unnerved Sean.

In ‘Chaz Darling’, Eden tried his best to persuade Christian to perform a surgery on her friend. Sean got an inspiration from one of his patients and thought to re-new the things with Kate. Kimber reached out to a former business associate for help when she and Matt fall on rough sledding.Next episode was entitled ‘Damien Sands’, Christian has a brilliant idea and he suggested Sean to film a reality show based on their careers as plastic surgeons but soon they discovered that people are more interested to know about their personal lives as compared to their surgical cases.

‘Dr. Joshua Lee’ brought Sean who tried to recover his youth through his relationship with Eden and his friendly relationship with Aidan Stone. A carjacker kidnapped Julia and Olivia and it caused Julia to question her relationship with Olivia. Kimber made a decision which devastated Matt. Next episode was ‘Duke Collins’- Sean discovered the secrets between Christian and Julia and Kimber and Ram revealed their future plans. Meanwhile, Eden and Julia’s peace agreement seemed suspicious. Next, came the episode, ‘Rachel Ben Natan’,Dawn Budge, ‘Hearts ‘n’ Scalpels’ producer didn’t want the show to join a gay-pride parade. Christian fell into his old habits and Sean hired a Receptionist Gina, in order to get back at Christian. An unfortunate incident led Dawn Budge to McNamara/Troy. Next episode of series was entitled ‘Magda and Jeff’- Sean’s role on ‘Hearts ‘n’ Scalpels’ is elaborated after he hired a talent agent. Julia’s illness is still a mystery and Christian rejected Gina’s initiatives when she led him through a new form of sex. An older woman appeared and she wants to have surgery done on her young hubby. Then came the episode entitled ‘Kyle Ainge’.

Next episode was ‘Lulu Grandiron’. Eden joined Kimber and Ram in business and Sean helped her. Christian is hired by a group of society woman to fulfill all their cosmetic surgery requests. Kimber and Ram invited Eden into their marriage. ‘August Walden’ leads the season finale ‘Candy Richards’. In the season finale, the reason behind Julia’s poor heath is revealed. Julia comes to know about it and as a result a tragedy strikes the McNamara/Troy family.A visitor from Christian’s past revealed some news. A deceived starlet visited McNamara/ Troy in order to fix her botched makeover, and Sean discovered the price of fame to be more expensive than its worth.

Nip/Tuck is nearing to its end!!

John Landgraf, FX President has confirmed the above statement at the Television Association Summer Press Tour, Beverly Hilton. He said, “Nip/Tuck will come to a close in early 2011”.

19 additional episodes have been planned and including these special 19 episodes, series will end at a total of 100 episodes. When John was asked ‘why they decided to bring it to an end’, he replied “he doubts any FX drama would ever run beyond 100 episodes, saying that serialized dramas have a much different storytelling model than nonserialized shows such as “Law & Order” or “CSI.” I think, they must have thought that Nip/Tuck will lose its creativity and success, if it continues after the 100 episodes. Ultimately, they put it to an end.

Currently, the series is running with season 5 and 14 episodes of this season have already been aired. Remaining episodes are set to be aired in Jan, 2009. It’s also confirmed that the Show runner Ryan Murphy will remain through the end of the season. Nip/Tuck follows the lives of two Plastic surgeons Sean McNamara and Christian Troy.

Nip/Tuck has won a Golden Globe for best drama series in 2005 and has also got several Emmy nominations. Whatever they are doing with Nip/Tuck is quite similar to what they have decided for The Shield, which is entering its final season on the network.

As we all know that the series have completed its five seasons and has been well received not only by its viewers but also by the critics. And with the confirmed news that the series sixth season will be aired, the series definitely has something in it, that keeps its viewers wanting for more. The creator of the show has also been double minded about the next series but at every time he ends up deciding that he will go for one more season.

The parent’s television council, have more than once criticized the show for taking up issues that should not been shown on screen. They were also of the view that the show should be called off screen because of its indecency and the inappropriate scenes in the show. Well, if you all have been thinking that all the medical procedures that these two famous surgeons have been doing on screen were fictional and had nothing to do with reality.

Let me tell you one of the most interesting parts of this medical drama series is that all the surgeries have nothing to do with the fictional aspect of the series. Yes, they are all real life surgeries shown to the viewers. The makers of the show claim that whatever surgeries that they have shown on screen have taken place in real life and are authentic. Now isn’t it interesting for all its fans. Doesn’t that make the series even more watch able and interesting?

Isn’t it all the more fun to know about something that you were never aware of and that also in such an interesting way? All such things that you were never aware of could happen to your body and probably you would never know them until you have seen them on discovery channel. Watch them this way in this interesting way, without getting too serious about it…..

Well, this almost perfect series has a simple and complex plotline at the same time. It’s about these two very successful surgeons in life, Sean and Christian. Sean who is having problems with his personal end, in keeping his family together, which consists of an adulterated wife, a sexually confused adolescent boy and on top of all that a partner who is lacking morals. Yes, Christian, though successful as a surgeon, but he is obsessed with sex. And his morals are no where close to him. He will get down to anything for money and in fact for whatever that he wants in life.

With two different characters and two different personalities, it seems that nothings good at Sean’s end, for whom life seems to be all messed up between his wife and his partner.
The only seemingly good person has to suffer a lot through out the series. While others enjoy life at his cost. Like in the series its Christian who doesn’t give it a damn what he is up to and what troubles he creates for Sean, who all the time is busy correcting his mistakes. Two different lives struck together one completely innocent, family man another arrogant, unethical but ladies man. What does life has in store for them????

Life has something in store for all of us. When it gives you something it also demands something in return. That’s what this amazing series has for its viewers. Well to begin with I would call it an “almost perfect series”, which leaves me with almost nothing else to define about it. It’s about these two successful surgeons who are at the top of their careers, but their personal lives are not sailing smooth. Two persons, two different lives, two different issues of life and their ways of dealing with life.

Yes, this Emmy and Golden award winner series has all that a perfect series should have. It has all the elements of drama, suspense, thrill, issues and in general how life could mean differently to two different individuals in the almost same atmosphere. What are priorities that a person chooses for himself???? All mixed with amazing science and real life based surgeries that take place on the show.

The series has successfully completed its five seasons and is on the verge of making the sixth one. All the five series have been well received by its viewers and also by the critics. The reason behind its success is none other than that it’s strange and original and that it has been successful in delivering nothing but the best to its viewers.
